There's nothing like a warm cup of mead on a snowy day to put you where you need to be. --Me
It's rich and golden, sweet and mellow, and completely warms you through. I have to make another batch. The one I made a few months back ended up getting moldy because I neglected to put it in an air-tight container fast enough. What I'm drinking now is an Irish import, but it's not traditional mead using just honey, yeast, and water. This is a more quick version that contains white wine. Nevertheless, it is delicious.
On Tuesday of last week, I put in my two weeks notice because I just couldn't handle the constant harassment anymore. On Wednesday, Danny told me THAT would be my last day. He can never let his employees be in complete control of when they leave. He's just an ass like that. So, I didn't get to make my last five hundred dollars. But that's okay. I still have three months of rent saved up, plus two thousand in my savings account for a car or emergency.
So what am I doing now? Well, I'm enjoying a warm cup of mead and working for myself. I've decided to give a big "FUCK YOU! ^-^" to "The Man" (easy there, Moonflower) and use this opportunity to create food, clothes, jewelry, body scrubs, scented oils, general cuteness, etc. and sell it. And that is how I will support myself. Pure and simple. I'm determined to make this work, because it's what I truly want out of life. I live off of my art. My creativity. I refuse to waste my time on that which does not serve me (more than money).
Where my stuff will be:
Girl Club
Weird Experience
I should at least have something to list in Weird Experience within a week's time. I'll be putting my dehydrated food and non-Girl Club stuff in that store.
Wish me luck! ^-^
That's what my aunts call me now, after seeing what I wore to Chris's first gig last night. I was damn cute, though. XD
And it didn't bother me anyway, after Aunt Donna told me that at work, her cake said "Happy Birthday Hooker".
I love my family.
The show was fucking amazing. I'm very proud of Chris's drumskillz. People even started moshing. Including Young Bryan. XD Only bad part about it was that Nick kept saying dumb shit between songs, like that he felt like he was going to puke and stuff. But if they knock that off and gain a bit more confidence stage-presence-wise they'll go far fast.
Also. Fitz was on stage for the performance, and I got kickass pictures with the band. I look like I belong in it. *SINGS FOR THEM* I CAN BE THEIR AMY LEE. ONLY BLONDE (*SCARES AMY LEE*). AND HOLDING A STUFFED MOOSE/REINDEER MASCOTT.
OMG I CAN BE NANA! *finds a cooler band XD!!!* KUZN! WIG-BORROWING TIME!
Btw. SO my idea to put Fitz on stage. I'm awesome. *emoheart* XD
Afterwards, Bryan had previous plans to visit a pallypal, so I rode to the afterparty with Aunt donna. Me and Devin were larfing and I was still dancing like crazy. Since all of my festivaling and bellydance classes, I'm no longer shy about dancing AT ALL. So, basically I never stop. But anyway, me and Devin got to talking about a lot of *bizarre whistley noise of paranormality*. BUT. I have so much to tell him about what I've learned in no seat belt land (which I'll of course leave the seatbeltlessness bit out of moooostly) and teach him a bit about how to protect himself better with magick. He knows very little about defensive/basic protective skills and they'll really help him out. So I'll be going over there Thursday after work so we can hang out down by his beach and talk privately for a bit, then have the typical Aunt Donna's bonfire later on, since I'm off on Fridays and can just crash there that night. It'll be sweet. Devin's usually cool one-on-one.
In other news (XD) we've got two new girls at work to replace Jessica and Melissa. Their names are Jessie and Debbie. Jessie is a sixteen-year-old secret spy (friend of the owners' family), and Debbie is just psychotic and obnoxious, and middle-aged. XD Poor Halle has to train them to death and be trapped with them in the evenings now.
They may be trying to get rid of Judge Tim (TERRIBLE!!!) because he's been having (work-stress induced) panic attacks and calling off like three days a week for the last month or so with crazy thyroid shit and what seems to be a touch of depression. But he might actually be trying to get fired so he can collect unemployment and properly search for a better job without being all stressed out while doing it. Which we're ALL hoping for at least a little bit. XD
Except for Little George.
He's too proud of his work.
My bellydance class at the wellness center isn't continuing in the fall because I'm basically the only one who always showed up. XD BUT my teacher also teaches at a dance academy (SO FUCKING COOL!) where I'll be continuing, learning with students who've already been in bellydance for three years, and Nicole (my teacher) said I fit in perfectly with them and am doing a great job. I went to the last summer class there on Tuesday night and it was much more fast-paced, but I still did great. I like this speed better. I get to learn more faster. And since this is a real dance school, there's a recital at the end of the season with a real costume and everything. I'm ecstatic! I'm getting myself a full-length mirror so I can practice better at home. It makes practice worlds better to be able to see yourself.
I'll be good enough to perform or teach... or both. I'm awesome!!! And proud of myself. ^-^
Also, Mike's birthday was on Wednesday, and after work (he got his new jarb he wanted so badly! Yay!) he came over and we gave him a proper celebration, with a homemade (XD) giant chocolate chip cookie (cake thing) and present and card and funtymez. Even Leo came to the party.
We started painting Psychedellic Jesus.
I made maple cinnamon ice cream. Mmmm. I made it with macadamia nutmilk and eggs. And vanilla, cinnamon, and maple syrup. XD And I came up with the most awesome juice at work the other day. Apple limeade. It's just apple juice and lime juice (fresh pressed, of course) and it's like, the best juice ever, shut up idiots. When I had Little George try it, he said what he always says when I give him a sample. "That's delicious!"
Every time I make something new and awesome and Cammy tries it, she starts raving about how I need to open a restaurant because she'd go there every day. LOL But, that's really not such a crazy idea. ^-^ Especially considering the "I'M GONNA OPEN MY VERY OWN JUICE BAR" dream I've had since before I knew other juice bars existed and thought I'd had a revolutionary idea. XD!!
Since I moved in, me and Young Bryan have been playing with the restaurant idea every now and then, saying what would be good locations and mostly arguing about whether it should be all raw or not (which it should XD). BUT THEN. THEN-NUH-NUH-NUH-NUH! *ahem* Mike said his mom wants to try to start an organic restaurant, and they have like, millionaire neighbors considering investing. KICKASS! Me, Mike, and Bryan would totally all work there at least for some amount of time. XD KUZN! JOIN US!
My wisdom teeth are starting to come in. Which is not fun because I have to have them pulled, or they'll fuck up all the good that my braces did.
I went to a drum circle last night at a cute little CPS shop. Lindy, who owns the shop invited us when we were at the other drum circle we go to. No one was dancing, but I brought my drum this time. It was very different. Smaller, and more like a class. Voodoo Bob taught me how to hit the drum properly. He would start a beat, then everyone would join in, and eventually develop different beats until it was AWESOME.
Lindy's familiar is the most beautiful cat I've ever seen. I've never in my life seen a more mystical looking cat. It's got this stillness and poise that are so powerful and so... beyond intelligence. And at one point, we were locked in a stare, and it was at one of those angles (or maybe it wasn't XD) where its eyes were reflecting light in a way that made them glow. It has the softest looking, long, wispy grey fur that flows and floats like there's some wind about it that we can't feel. Actually, I noticed that same wind when Lindy walked close by me. Like, a tidal wave of energy that follows her around. And she calls me Jenni. How'd she know I miss that? PSYCHICS. GARGOYLES. EVERYTHING'S UNGODLY. Needless to say, coolest witch I've ever met.
I'm going to a wedding reception today. For Erin, my first yoga teacher who owns the place where Bryan teaches. She's also my bellydance teacher's sister. He got them some absinthe and I'm helping paint the bottle. I think I'm just gonna put different names for it all over, and maybe try to paint a green fairy. Whatever I put on there, I better do it now so it has time to dry.
Also. I still can't fucking believe deo and Mandy are atheists now.
And I got my card from my mom's, so I can start buying things online again now. Camera, dehydrator for awesome raw foods, new shower filter, makeup, silver wire, kickass stones, etc.
This weekend, me and Bryan are giving the apartment like, a full scrubdown. Every time one of us wants to do something, there's always something else to do first. Laundry, organizing this or that, blah blah blah. So, we're just gonna do it all now so we can jump into whatever projects we want to whenever. I MUST MAKE MY MANNEQUINN!
Anyway, TO THE BOTTLE!
At Niki's
Sunday
January 18th
Noon
So, last night Niki and I stayed up past 4am making red velvet puffs and filming a short... film about being locked in the bathroom. It was great. We loved it. It'll take us three years to edit this thing. AND we're using a shitty program. Hooray!
Today we're making a pie for the raw vegan potluck we're going to tomorrow (one of my crazy coworkers invited me). It's gonna have a nut/raisin crust, and a banana, apple, pear, orange, lemon, ginger, almond butter, and coconut butter filling. Blenders ftw. Maybe I'll put the spinach in. I'm not sure. Anyway, it's gonna be delicious and I can't wait to try it. ^-^
I also found that I love green tea with toasted brown rice. But no one else does. Except the crazies at work who sampled it and lufft it like me. XD
I got my shower filter and found out I can't get my old showerhead off because it's like... grouted on there. BUT. I BROUGHT IT TO NIKI'S AND USED IT HERE. I are soh sawft and helthee. Bjelis. :3
ALSO. Coolest thing ever:
My birthday this year is awesome. Here are my reasons:
- I turn twenty.
- It falls on Australia Day (every year).
- It falls on a new moon.
- It falls on the Chinese New Year.
I luvit. Pliss share in mah jooooi. ^-^
At Niki's
Saturday
November 22nd
10:12am
Shit, son. It's been like a month. PLISS. LET MEH ECKSPLAYN. So, my gramma moved in and seems to have brought the Great Wall of China with her. Sadly, she sat it right in front of my computer, so I can only journal when I'm at Niki's and she's in the shower. XD Anyway, to update the world, Halloween was totally amazing, I'm definitely going to find out what the health food store has to offer (jobwise) and switch if it's good. The deli life is simply not my cup of meat. But that's old news. For people who I've already told, at least. XD Cameron's decided he wants to be famous, so he's not holding in his talents so much anymore and is becoming much more brave about expressing it. It inspires me to do the same. The snow is here. Thanksgiving's going to be broken up because my mom's antisocial and my gramma's boxes have taken over the world. I had a weird dream Thursday night that I was sad and giving Squirrelaroo a hug. Friday I found out he was fired, so I decided I'm a totally awesome psychic.
Me and Niknik are having our usual blasty. We roasted a fresh young chicken last night with fresh rosemary, little red potatoes, and golden delicous apple. IT WAS SOOO GOOD! Then we had gelato. ^-^ Anne and I are going to BT(white boy from the kitchen)'s rap concert next Friday night. It should be fun. XD
Happy Thanksgiving!
11:12pm
So, today Cameron and I went to the store I applied to the other night, for a peek and some groceries. Weeeell, while we were there, a guy from high school spotted us. He was in my tenth grade health class, and me and Amy would talk to him sometimes. Anyways, he said that we caught him on his day off, and that he worked there. So, I laughed and was like,"I just applied here!" THEN he said that he'd put in a good word for me with his dad who's like the manager or something. YAY! Hopefully he still knows my name. LOL! So yeah, with school starting, some of the people there will probably quit (or at least cut back their hours) and they'll need to hire (ME!). XD I'm going to wait a week or so, and if I don't hear from them by then, I'll put in all my other applications. That way I'll still have plenty of time for muh dream jarb to contact me before I hear back from anyone else.
THEY MAKE THEIR OWN FRESH GROUND PEANUT BUTTER. AND I BOUGHT SOME. *DIES OF JOY* IT'S SO GOOD!!! Nothing is added. It's just roasted peanuts. I EATS IT ON A APPLE YES I DOES!!!! But it's not as sweet as I'm used to, so I'll add honey to my sammiches. Delicious.
Thursday, August 14th
3:24am
I've got goodies from Cameron's Connecticut trip. Including Swedish cookies. That were made in Canada. XD
And some activities I'm sure he'd prefer I not mention.
Now...!
>;D
All our lives we chase the night like it's never-ending, you the sun and I the moon.
I'm so glad he's back. He really is my soulmate. He actually said to me today,"I feel like I've loved you for thousands of years." It moved me to tears. I'm not afraid of losing him anymore because I now realize that there is nothing stronger than what holds us together. I feel safe now, knowing that if I ever lose him, we'll soon find each other again. Whether in this life, or what lies after. Just as we have before.
But I'm sure you're not interested in my mush. XD
I have an appointment with my dentist tomorrow at five. Before then, I'm probably going to be putting away lots of laundry, and making my ripped-knee pants really cute. And making another green smoothie.
Me and Niki made our very first green smoothie two days ago! ^-^ And it was DELICIOUS! We're amazing. And Chris is insane for not liking berries. But he likes other fruit, so I won't get angry. XD
The one I made today had:
- 1 apple
- 1 nectarine
- 1 handful of blueberries
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- 1 metric shit-ton greens
It wasn't as sweet as I was hoping, but that's because I saved half of my blueberries for today, so it's easily fixable. And my blender can get rid of all the colorful bits. But since it's old, it gets hot easily and makes my smoothie kind of warm, which I dislike. But, overall, it was good. Definitely like the coconut oil in there. But I wouldn't add more than a tablespoon because it overpowers the other fruit flavors a bit. I missed the banana. But it still had a nice, creamy texture without it. I was concerned about that.
I'm also going to apply at Giant Beagle, since I go there so much. And maybe that one Azn Fewd place by the nail place where the azns work. XD A place within walking distance to Niki's would be neat 'cause I wouldn't have to avoid scheduling peep hangs on days I have to work. Plus I could probably get me and Niki discounts on organic numnums and pokeymanz. I'm getting Niki a booster pack when I get my first paycheck. She's bought me way too much stuff. All those candy bars. XD
I also had a surprisingly long conversation with Nick (Niki's boyfriend) after she fell asleep. It was funny, because I've never really talked to him before, but we discussed at length the two taboo conversation topics... religion and politics, and really nothing else. Besides a bit about smoking, careers, and his mom, and Uncle Joe. Niki fell asleep around 6am, and we didn't finish talking until after 8am. About religion and politics. LMFAO It's funny how the most controversial things are anything but when open-minded people discuss them, even if they've never talked before. He taught me about how the new world order is gonna kick our asses, and I taught him about how cool and not evil paganism is. XD CPS FTW!
Also. Niki, are you working Saturday? During the party? Pliss let me know.
Thursday, June 12th
Midnight
That's right, my lovelies-- my lovelies? Wtf? Anyways, that's right... er, yes. That's right, I've boiled once more! In the cutest little pot! It even had a tiny spoutlike triangle on the side for pouring. It was at Niki's/her boyfriend's family's/her dad's house. Where we peep hanged after our glorious adventures.
"What?! Adventures?! TELL ME!!!" I'm sure you're all saying.
Well. If you insist, then I shall.
It was a lovely day. As lovely as all of you little lovelies out there in computerland. And we ventured out into the great unknown that is my uncle's van. I clutched the handle, and with a deep but hesitant breath I STRUCK FORTH! Erm... pulled it. AND WHAT DID MY WONDERING EYES FIND, BUT THE FLOOR? Nothing. No seats. Then we went to Wendy's! Yay!
So, we went up to the college and Niki applied/got accepted. We had a nice chat in the waiting area with a chubby little black girl who was there with her mother.
"Are you TEENAGERS?!"
"Yeah... pretty much!"
"Is that your mom?" (She pointed over at a woman standing at the admissions window.)
"No, we're here with her dad. He's out in the parking lot."
"Is THAT your dad?" (She pointed at a random man standing nearby?)
"Does that look like the fucking parking lot, little girl?!"
XD Just kidding on that bit. We just said no and walked away. Then I gave Niki a short tour of the campus and we each bought a Swedish Fish, for a total of ten cents. We WILL be taking pictures of them. XD
And then... then... THEN!!! we headed off to the health food shop. I restocked my coconut oil and raw honey supply, and Niki and I went halves on a box of organic Japanese twig tea. XD It ended up being REALLY good (that, my friends, is where the boiling came into play. I'm sure you were waiting long and hard to see when it would. IN-DEED. And no, I don't know how one would "wait hard"... if female.) And her dad got us some organic sodas. The brand was Blue Sky. I had ale of the ginger. It ACTUALLY tasted like ginger. DELICIOUS.
Plus it was certified organic by organic certifiers (www.organiccertifiers.com). Can't beat that with a baseball bat.
